Privacy policy
ChairSide Delivery handles identity documents, professional licence numbers, delivery addresses, location data and payment details. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and how you stay in control of it.
Last updated: 15 September 2026Version 1.0
We publish this policy in full so that you can see exactly what we collect and why. We update this page from time to time, and the effective date above always shows the current version.
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
1.1 ChairSide Delivery is operated by Chairside, LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company based in Zebulon, North Carolina, United States. Chairside, LLC is responsible for the personal information described here.
1.2 This policy covers the ChairSide apps, the chairsidedelivery.com website, the merchant dashboard and our support channels. It applies to Customers, licensed professionals, beauty supply stores and delivery drivers.
1.3 It does not cover the separate privacy practices of a Merchant, of a payment processor, or of any other site you reach through a link from ours. Those organisations publish their own policies.
2. Information we collect and why
2.1 Account and contact information: your name, email address, telephone number and password. We need this to create your account, to confirm who you are, to send Order updates and to answer support requests.
2.2 Delivery address and location: the address you ask us to deliver to, the access notes you add, and the geographic coordinates for that address. We need this to check that you are inside our service area, to route the Order, and to let the Driver find you.
2.3 Professional licence information: your cosmetology, barbering, nail or esthetics licence number and its status. We need this to confirm that you are a licensed professional and to unlock professional pricing.
2.4 Government issued identity documents: a photograph of a driving licence, state identity card or equivalent. We collect this only for professional verification and for driver onboarding, so that we can confirm the licence belongs to you, meet our screening duties and reduce fraud.
2.5 Driver location while on a delivery: when a Driver is on an active delivery, the app shares the Driver’s location. We need this to show live tracking to the Customer, to give accurate arrival estimates, to support the Driver, and to investigate a safety or delivery dispute. We do not track a Driver’s location when no delivery is active.
2.6 Order information: the products you buy, quantities, prices, substitutions, delivery PIN status, proof of delivery, tips, ratings, refunds and ChairSide Credit. We need this to fulfil the Order, to run refunds and appeals, and to keep accurate business records.
2.7 Payment information: your payment is processed by Stripe. Card details are sent directly to Stripe. ChairSide does not store full card numbers. We keep a payment reference, the card brand, the last four digits and the transaction result so that we can match payments to Orders and handle refunds.
2.8 Communications: messages you send to support, in-app chat about an Order, photographs you attach to a damage or wrong item report, and call or message records between a Customer and a Driver made through the Platform.
2.9 Device and usage information: device type, operating system, app version, language, approximate location derived from an IP address, crash reports and the pages or screens you use. We need this to keep the service secure, to fix faults and to improve the product.
3. How we use information
3.1 To provide the service: create and run your account, take and fulfil Orders, route deliveries, operate the delivery PIN, process payments, issue refunds and ChairSide Credit, and give support.
3.2 To verify eligibility: confirm professional licences, screen and onboard Drivers, and confirm that a Merchant is authorised to sell.
3.3 To keep people safe and prevent fraud: detect false accounts, misuse of professional pricing, refund abuse and payment fraud, and investigate safety incidents and disputes.
3.4 To meet legal duties: tax, accounting, sales tax reporting, responses to lawful requests, and the defence of legal claims.
3.5 To improve the service: measure performance, understand which features are used, and plan our service area. Where we use information for analysis, we work with aggregated or de-identified data whenever that is enough.
3.6 To communicate with you: send Order and account messages, and, where you have asked for them or where the law allows, send news and offers. Service messages about an Order or about your account are not marketing and cannot be switched off while your account is open.
3.7 Legal basis. We handle personal information because it is necessary to perform our contract with you, because we have a legitimate interest in running a safe and efficient marketplace, because the law requires it, or because you have given consent. Consent is the basis for precise device location, for marketing email and SMS, and for any optional feature that says so. You can withdraw consent at any time.
4. How we share information
4.1 With Merchants: the Merchant that fulfils your Order receives your first name, the Order contents, your professional pricing status where it applies, and the information needed to prepare and hand over the Order. Merchants do not receive your full payment details.
4.2 With Drivers: the assigned Driver receives your first name, the delivery address and access notes, the Order contents at a level needed to carry and hand over the Order, and a masked way to contact you. Drivers may use this information only to complete the delivery. Our terms forbid them from keeping it, reusing it or contacting you for any other purpose.
4.3 With Customers: a Customer sees the Driver’s first name, photograph, vehicle details and live location during an active delivery, so that the handover is safe and predictable.
4.4 With service providers who work on our behalf: Stripe for payment processing; licence and identity verification providers who check a cosmetology licence or a government issued document against official records; cloud hosting, database and storage providers; mapping and routing providers; email and SMS delivery providers; and customer support tooling. They may use the information only to provide their service to us, under contract and under confidentiality duties.
4.5 For legal reasons: to comply with a law, subpoena, court order or lawful request; to enforce our terms; to investigate fraud or a safety incident; or to protect the rights, property or safety of ChairSide, our users or the public.
4.6 In a business transfer: if ChairSide is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will tell you if that happens and if a different privacy policy will apply.
4.7 We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross context behavioural advertising.
5. Location information
5.1 Customers: we use the delivery address and its coordinates to confirm service area coverage, estimate delivery time and route the Driver. If you allow the app to use your device location, we use it only to suggest a nearby address and to show your position relative to an arriving Order.
5.2 Drivers: precise location is collected while a delivery is active, including background location while the app is minimised, so that tracking and arrival estimates keep working. Collection stops when the delivery ends or when the Driver goes off duty.
5.3 You can turn device location off at any time in your phone settings. Some features, such as live tracking and address suggestions, will not work without it, and a Driver cannot accept deliveries with location switched off.
6. Identity documents and sensitive information
6.1 A photograph of a government issued identity document, and a professional licence number, are sensitive to you, so we treat them with extra care. We use them only to verify identity and licence status, and never for marketing or profiling.
6.2 Identity documents are uploaded over an encrypted connection and stored in a private, restricted location. They are never served from a public address. Access is limited to the small number of staff who run verification, and every access is logged.
6.3 Once verification is complete, we keep the verification result, the licence number and the date of the check. The document image itself is deleted within 12 months of the check, or within 30 days of your account closing, whichever comes first, unless an open dispute, safety investigation or legal duty requires us to keep it for longer.
7. How long we keep information
7.1 Account records: for as long as your account is open, and for up to 3 years after it closes, so that we can handle late disputes and meet our record keeping duties. After that we delete or anonymise them.
7.2 Order, payment and tax records: 7 years, as required for accounting and tax purposes.
7.3 Identity document images: as set out in clause 6.3. Licence numbers and verification results: for the life of the account and 2 years after closure.
7.4 Driver location traces tied to a delivery: 90 days, so that we can investigate a delivery or safety dispute, after which they are deleted or aggregated into statistics that do not identify a person.
7.5 Support messages and report photographs: 3 years from the date of the report.
7.6 Marketing contacts and waitlist entries: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
7.7 Deleted information is removed from live systems immediately and from routine encrypted backups within 90 days.
8. How we protect information
8.1 Data is encrypted in transit with TLS and encrypted at rest. Private files, including identity documents and delivery photographs, are served only through short lived links that expire, never from a public bucket address.
8.2 Access to personal information is limited to the staff and providers who need it for their role, protected by individual accounts and database level access rules, and monitored.
8.3 Passwords are stored only as a strong one way hash. We never store, log or display a password, a full card number, or a delivery PIN in plain text in our logs.
8.4 No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires, and we will explain what happened and what to do next.
9. Cookies and analytics on our website
9.1 chairsidedelivery.com uses only the cookies and local storage that the site needs to work, for example to keep a signed in session, to remember a form in progress and to protect forms against cross site request forgery. These are strictly necessary and cannot be switched off from within the site.
9.2 We do not run advertising cookies and we do not allow third party advertising trackers on our site. If we add analytics or any non-essential cookie in the future, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
9.3 Our mobile apps do not use cookies. They use local device storage to keep you signed in and to hold cached Order information.
9.4 You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
10. Children
ChairSide is not directed at children. You must be 18 or over to hold an account, place an Order, deliver, or sell through the Platform. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we delete it. If you believe a child has given us information, write to admin@chairsidedelivery.com and we will remove it.
11. Your rights and choices
11.1 You may ask us to: give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you; correct information that is wrong or out of date; delete your information; give you a portable copy in a common machine readable format; or limit how we use it.
11.2 Much of this is available without asking. You can view and edit your profile, addresses and Order history in the app, manage notification and marketing preferences in settings, control location permission in your phone settings, and close your account from the app.
11.3 To make a request, write to admin@chairsidedelivery.com from the email address on your account, or use the privacy option in the app. We will confirm your identity before we act, so that we do not release your information to somebody else. We respond within 45 days, and we will tell you if we need a further 45 days for a complex request.
11.4 Some information must be kept even after a deletion request, for example Order and payment records held for tax purposes, and records needed for an open dispute or a legal duty. Where that applies, we tell you which information we have kept and why.
11.5 Exercising a privacy right is free, and we will never treat you differently, refuse service, or change your prices because you used one.
12. United States state privacy rights
12.1 If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended gives you the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, the sources, the purposes and the categories of recipient; the right to delete; the right to correct; the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. The categories we collect are listed in section 2, our purposes in section 3, and our recipients in section 4. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross context behavioural advertising.
12.2 We use sensitive personal information, meaning government identity documents, professional licence numbers and precise location, only to provide the service, to verify eligibility and to prevent fraud. We do not use it to infer characteristics about you.
12.3 Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws, including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and Montana, have similar rights of access, correction, deletion and portability, and the right to appeal a decision we make on a request. To appeal, reply to our decision and mark it "privacy appeal". We answer an appeal within 45 days.
12.4 You may use an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf. We will ask the agent for proof of authorisation and may ask you to confirm it directly.
13. Changes to this policy
13.1 We update this policy when the service changes or when the law requires it. The version and effective date at the top of this page always show the current text.
13.2 If a change materially affects how we use your personal information, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent.
14. How to contact us
